Here’s What You Need to Know About Getting Veneers in Bend:
Veneers Perfect Your Smile
Composed of a thin layer of porcelain, veneers are adhered to the teeth using a resin cement. The are two primary kinds of veneers: Laminate veneers, and full restoration veneers. The difference is in the amount of porcelain used to perfect the teeth. Laminate veneers are very thin and are applied only to the surface of the tooth. Restoration veneers, on the other hand, crown every tooth completely.
Depending on your needs, Dr. Dondo may apply veneers over one tooth that has become fractured or discolored, or over all of your teeth for a complete smile makeover. Veneers are perfect for those with smaller than average teeth, or for those whose teeth have become smaller over time due to teeth grinding. You can use veneers to elongate shorter teeth or widen thinner teeth. They can even strengthen teeth for individuals whose teeth have become brittle with age.

Apply Veneers in Three Dental Visits
During your first office visit, we will take an evaluation of your teeth and learn what you would like to achieve using veneers. We may take x-rays or impressions to get a better feel for what needs to be done. From there, we will schedule a second visit during which we will prepare your teeth for veneers and custom make the veneers to fit your teeth.
To do this, we will remove approximately 1/2 millimeter from the front of your tooth—roughly the same thickness as the veneer applied. We may use an anesthetic depending on your unique needs. From there, we will make impressions of your teeth and send them out to a laboratory to construct them. It may take 2-4 weeks to receive the veneers back, during which time we will apply temporary veneers.
On your third visit, we will permanently bond the veneers to the front of your teeth. To prepare your teeth for bonding, we will clean, polish, and then etch them so that the veneer can more easily attach to your tooth. We will then trim and prepare the veneer for your tooth before using a fast-drying cement to adhere them. At the end of your visit, we will make any final adjustments, and you will be able to leave the office with a stunningly beautiful smile.
